Select Call Centre

Select Communications started in 1969 as Grande Prairie Answering Service, servicing the growing local business and energy industry in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada with 24 hour answering services and the burgeoning paging industry. In 1979 the business changed hands but remained in the Bidewell family and weathered the downturn in the energy sector at the beginning of the 80's. In 1992 the business began a new period of growth with the local economy, a new high capacity digital telephone system and by 1995 the company began to acquire other companies.

Expansion in 1997 included the second Edmonton office, which became the head office, and offices in Calgary and Red Deer followed within a few years.

Today the four offices of Select Communications collectively answer for more than 1000 companies across North America. A second generation of Bidewells are leading the company to new growth and success!

For almost all of the last 15 years, including 2011, the offices of Select Communications have been awarded the Canadian Call Management Association (CAM-X) Award of Excellence!

• Our Edmonton office was awarded the Diamond Plus Award for 14 years of excellence
• Our Grande Prairie office was again given the Diamond Plus Award for 12 years of excellence
• Our Calgary and Red Deer offices were both honoured with the Sapphire Award for 9 years of excellence

Additionally for 2011, all offices received the Award of Distinction, Red Deer and Grande Prairie received Top 10 scores with Edmonton receiving the Top Score of all participants in North America. Our staff works very hard to provide the high level of service required to win these awards, and in 2011 one member of our staff was awarded the special accolade of Best Call!
