Hot Zone/Safe Zone Safety Management
GPS technology lets companies define geographic areas by a number of characteristics.
For instance, an equipment parking area at the Rainbow Lake operation centre (for instance) might be defined as a "safe zone."
Equipment within that parking area is considered safe. When assets leave the safe zone without a journey plan then Select Communications receives an alert and we follow protocol.
Adding Time to Safe Zones
Sometimes automatic protocols are added to safe zones. Any equipment leaving the zone between midnight and 0600 hours (for instance) would trigger an automatic alert to our call centre. This strategy is very useful where chronic theft is a problem.
Hot Zones
Consider a company with a number of remote pumping stations. When GPS equipped employees enter that geographic area a hot zone alert is issued. Depending on company protocol, if we don't receive updates from the employee at specified intervals we will follow the correct safety protocol.
Hot zone alerts can be a life saving "heads-up" in sour gas country.
Geographic Zones and Speed of Travel
Many leaseholds and private roads have mandatory maximum speed limits. GPS systems combine location and time data to calculate speed. When speed limits are exceeded alerts are raised and we are notified "real time" for further action and reporting.
Combining the capabilities of GPS with a full service 24 hour call centre like Select Call Centres ensures you receive maximum return on investment on your health, safety and environmental investment.
